Who doesn’t love a free sporting spectacular? If you’ve got post Commonwealth Games blues then Tri Liverpool 2014 is a ‘must attend’ event. Tri Liverpool 2014 is taking place on the 10th of August 2014 in the Royal Albert Docks area of Liverpool City Centre. It boasts a stunning course that takes triathletes past some of Liverpool’s most iconic landmarks. The triathlon course is super spectator friendly using a multi-lap format so expect the atmosphere to be electric.
As a British Triathlon Championships event, Tri Liverpool attracts some of the world’s best elite and non-elite triathletes. The elites will be competing to be crowned ‘British Champion’ and it remains to be seen if the Brits can step-up and overcome last year’s winner, Aussie Brendan Sexton.
The great thing about triathlon is that age groupers, elites and participants of abilities get to race the same course, this year the most talented age group athletes will be competing to gain entry into the 2015 ETU European Championships in Geneva so expect some exciting sprint finishes!
In total there will be over 2,000 participants of all ages and abilities swimming, biking and running their way to the iconic finish line located outside the Echo Arena.
